I bought one of these a few weeks ago and gave it its maiden flight today. Made a few mods, but that is nothing unusual for me. Changed out the motor
and esc. Did not use the 4 bladed prop and went for a 2 blade, 15*4. On running up the motor to see how many amps it was pulling and seeing it spike
at 100amps on a 50amps esc I just adjusted the end point for full stick until the amps were at a safe range. This brushless has more then enough
grunt. rnI had a lot of onlookers for the maiden and at times gusty wind, but this was not going to stop me. By now the adrenalin had kicked in.
Placed the P51 on the ground and pointed it into the wind. Held in up elevator to keep the tail on the ground and gave it full throttle. 5 to 6 metres
later were airborne, gained some height to trim out. It only needed a few clicks of down and a few clicks of right aileron. Did a few circuits and a
few rolls. What a great flying plane. By now half the club members were standing with me in the middle of the paddock so I thought a shameless plug
for Sid at Chargedrc was quiet appropriate. When it came time to land I simply lined up to the strip flicked the flap switch to full down and guided
her home. What a gentle plane to land. I only had 2 batteries with me today, but the next flight I will have a few more. This would have to have been
one of the best maiden flights I can recall. I cannot wait another 7 days. rn rn rn
