Battery charging - for beginners 9 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
i have a hobbyzone cub, 3 channel which i have been using with stock 4*aa charger for its 130mha lipo battery and a spare i purchased

question,
i want to buy a fms cesna 182 v2 next, and would like to know about batteries and chargers. There are balanced chargers? (no idea what this mean)
the example the imax b6 6s which shows on the recommended producs for the 182.

do i need one? (a charger other than the one that i assume comes with the plane)

does a multi charger mean i can charge multiple batteries at ones?

the cesna is an arf - which i get means assembly required but everything is in the pack, so i think the batteries are the only think i might need to order with it (as swapout spares to give a longer funtime) hence the charging questions arose.

any comments appreciated.

Hi Paul,

Sorry mate, didn't see your post until now.
To answer your question the FMS Cessna 182 v2 comes stock with a 2200mah 3s battery and charger. You can but a slightly larger battery in, but it is designed to balance perfectly with a 2200mah 3s.

As for chargers we highly recommend always charging a LiPo battery with suitable balance charger. The included charger is very basic - upgrading to something like a B6 once you get a few different battery packs is the best way to go.

A multi-charger usually means that you can charge many different types or chemistry of batteries e.g. LiPo, NiMh, NiCd, LiFe etc. You can usually only charge one battery at a time (you can charge more with parallel or series charging but only 1 at a time is advised to begin with).

The Cessna182 from FMS we sell is RTF - it comes with everything included.

We also have a Freewing Piper Cub trainer package in stock now if you are interested in a different looking trainer aircraft.

Shoot us an email via the contact us page if you have more questions (include your mobile number and we'll give you a call back )
